The MSA-ODU houses a large number of students from diversified cultural and demographic settings from across the globe.  We facilitate a positive integration of various thoughts, ideas to create a dynamic and productive environment among students.  We foster better understanding of Islam and Muslims on campus, while engaging and partnering with various cultural and faith based groups to build mutual respect and accord within campus community.

MSA ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES
The MSA-ODU continuously strive to provide services and serve interests of students on campus. To achieve this, we assist in several service areas to avail. Various committees  administer these service areas:

1. New student assistance
2.
Educational (Tarbiyah) Program
3. Sports and Recreation
4. Outreach Program
5. Student Rights and Counseling

NEW STUDENT ARRIVAL ASSISTANCE: MSA assists new students with airport pickups and temporary accommodation. We continuously strives to make students transition smooth and enjoyable in this new home. Please check our New Students link for more information.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM: The MSA regularly hold weekly meetings (Halaqa) on Friday evenings at the Islamic Center. In addition, we frequently invite guest speakers from various areas of expertise.

SPORTS AND RECREATION: MSA organizes various sports and recreation activities e.g. family picnics, sports nights and soccer tournaments to enhance social aspect of the student community life.

OUTREACH: It is very important to contribute positively to the community we live in. Especially in a framework that embodies diverse faiths, cultures and demographic affliations. We continuously strive to provide a platform towards better understanding and co-operation among various communities on campus.

STUDENTS RIGHTS AND COUNSELING: The MSA understands that students on campus, especially those away from home might face challenges adjusting with both work and social culture here in US. MSA strives to act as catalyst and provide, whenever necessary counseling to the students in need. In additions, MSA also counsels students towards safeguarding their civil rights in the US.
